Windhorse Tibetan Prayer Flags

Hand block printed Tibetan Windhorse prayer flag set of 25.

Windhorse prayer flags are traditionally hung by Tibetans in high places to catch the wind so that the prayer will be carried out to bless all sentient beings. The prayer is intended to bring blessings and good fortune to the world and translates as:

“May the rain fall at the proper time. May the crops and livestock be bountiful. May there be freedom from illness, famine and war. May all beings be well and happy”.

There are 5 different colors representing 5 primary elements:
Blue: sky White: air Red: fire Green: water Yellow: earth.

These prayer flag sets come with a card denoting the most auspicious and inauspicious days to hang these according to the Tibetan calendar.

These prayer flags are brought to us by Ganesh Himal Trading Co, a long standing member of the Fair Trade Federation.  Ganesh Himal imports directly from small cottage industries in Nepal, including development projects working to improve the lives of Tibetan refugees and women. In 2014, the Ganesh Himal Trading Co family founded the Conscious Connections Foundation. CCF is a 501c3 dedicated to facilitating the advancement of marginalized individuals in Nepal and around the world, by promoting access to education, health-care, skills development and facilities improvement so that people can create strong, vibrant, economically viable communities. CCF’s main projects have been promoting girls education in Nepal through our Power of 5 program, providing continued staffing for the Baseri Clinic and developing a menstrual pad project. Then on April 25, 2015 after a 7.9 magnitude earthquake destroyed the Baseri clinic and many of the villages of producers in Nepal the focus of CCF quickly changed to disaster relief. This disaster relief will be ongoing as we stand beside our many friends in Nepal and help them to rebuild their lives.
